Skip size guide

Skip bin sizes, and how to pick the right one

Six sizes, from a 2m³ for a garden tidy-up to a 10m³ for a full clearance. Work out roughly what you are throwing out, then match it to the bin below.

The range

Sizes are measured in cubic metres of volume. The wheelie-bin figures are a straight volume comparison against a 240L council bin, which is the easiest way to picture it. Weight is the other half of the answer: soil, brick and concrete hit a bin's weight limit long before they fill it, so heavy loads go in a smaller bin than the volume alone suggests.
